We've been infusing again! Age of Balm has been busily expanding our line of oils and balms to include some new blends! New products include Original Balm of Gilead Butter, Original Balm of Gilead Infused Oil, Forest Garden Balm and Forest Garden Infused Oil, (with a blend of Balm of Gilead and Healing Flowers of Chamomile, Lavender and Rose) Western Red Cedar Balm and Western Red Cedar Infused Oil made from our own Thuja Plicata! We rolled out (and on) the new line at our show on Februrary 11th at Lucky Liquor with our show merch. People loved the new line and got very special deals on prices on our Age of Balm that night- another good reason to go see Age of Fiction! We are now in the process of uploading new products to our Bandcamp merch site below. Grab them while supplies last! Welcome to the Balm Page! This is the home of Age of Balm. It all began with our orginal Balm of Gilead created by the Csiga family in the Pacific Northwest in 2019! As longtime wildcrafters, Holly and Bryan (Age of Fiction) grew up in Alaska studying the flora and fauna under the auspices of Holly's Dad Boyd, a renowned naturalist. There, Boyd imparted upon them the importance of the resin from the bud of the Cottonwood Tree and its history as the famed "Balm of Gilead.". Often thought to be a pesky tree by homeowners and gardeners, the Cottonwood is a secret treasure trove of natural tradition. Dating back to the tribes whose unceded land we now occupy, the cottonwood has been an integral source of skin and muscle care for it's many soothing and relaxing benefits. A quick search on the web will turn up it's impressive list of qualifications dating back into history. When we began crafting this balm, many people came to us telling me how many ways they have used it and kept asking for more. We just had to keep making it !
We wild forage our cottonwood buds from our own home and local areas in the foothills of the Western Cascades. We collect only buds from branches downed by natural windfall. As such, the availability of our products may vary.
The Age of Balm Original Balm of Gilead is a luxurious skin pampering treat with an aroma of fresh spring cottonwood. A soothing body balm for dry or irritated skin, and a relaxing muscle rub, it can be applied liberally to the skin or spot applied to areas in need. The oils in our Original Balm of Gilead do not clog pores, and are perfect for daily use on the face. As cottonwood contains natural salicin, it may promote clearing for acne prone skin as well as soothing relief for tired feet. Our family use it on chapped lips and sunburn alike!
DO YOU EVER SELL LARGER AMOUNTS OF OIL?

We do! Our oil is the concentrated cottonwood infusion made to create our balm. It is high potency yet gentle and perfect for use directly on the skin or to make balms and sticks. Herbalists love the stuff! Our oil is limited and may require reservation in advance of making our products. Please inquire directly if you have questions about our oil availability or if you are curious about any special requests. We look forward to hearing from you!
